The Killer Beez – Reunion

Former Cairns band The Killer Beez have set a date for a reunion gig.

The Killer Beez were busy on the Cairns and national scene from 2000 to 2006. The last time they performed in Cairns was October 2006.

The Killer Beez played a string of high profile support gigs during their years together. They opened for bands The John Butler Trio, Pete Murray, Those Bloody McKennas, Paul Kelly, Alex Lloyd and INXS.

They released the E.P. “One Something Beautiful” in October 2003, at what was then the newly opened Gilligan’s Backpacker Resort. Five of the 6 tracks were recorded at Pandamonium Record, with Todd Macalpine engineering and co-producing. They toured throughout Victoria and Queensland several times, and were welcome guests at the Folk, Rhythm and Life Festival in northern Victoria. The Killer Beez brand of high energy acoustic rock gave the band a unique sound and stage show.

Lead singer and acoustic guitarist for the band, Bob Vidler, now lives in Japan and is returning to Cairns to team-up with the band for a one-off reunion party. Paddy J on bass guitar, Jason Martin on drums and Adrian Hooper on electric guitar. The band is giving a big shout-out to all of their friends and fans, to come and enjoy the reunion party. It will be a night not to be missed.

The Killer Beez E.P. “One Something Beautiful” is available in all major online music stores. They will be playing all songs off the E.P. plus their other crowd favourites.
