Emma Louise 2019

Emma Louise – Lilac Everything

Cairns-born starlet Emma Louise will be bringing her Lilac Everything Tour back home to Cairns this September as part of seven-date national tour.

Fans will be treated to special live versions of tracks from her ethereal and acclaimed new album Lilac Everything; A Project by Emma Louise, (out now through Liberation Records), as well the finest moments from her back catalogue.

Emma teamed up with Tobias Jesso Jr, a Canadian musician, producer and songwriter for the likes of Adele, Sia, John Legend, Paloma Faith and others, for the new album.

“I never wanted to be a producer until I heard Emma’s demos,” Jesso Jr says.

“She has perfect instincts when it comes to song writing; she means what she writes, and that truth comes across in her lyrics.

The altered vocals reveal previously unheard details in the quality of Emma’s voice, and it’s a reflection of that time in the stunning Bear Creek Studio in Seattle where they recorded.

“It was the most magical, magical thing,” Emma says.

“It was in the middle of nowhere; we were drinking six bottles of wine a night. We did all the songs live.”

The Lilac Everything Tour will be the very first time Australian audiences have had the opportunity to hear these incredible songs live.

Emma first shot to fame in 2011 at the ripe age of 20 with the release of her smash hit Jungle, and then again in 2013 when her debut studio album vs Head vs Heart reached number 12 in the ARIA Albums chart.

Now 28, Emma’s new conceptual album, Lilac Everything (2018), is a transformative exploration of her life since the critically-acclaimed 2016 album Supercry.

With a career that includes touring with Boy & Bear and Sam Smith, ARIA nominations and international fame, don’t miss out on one of Cairns’ most successful home-grown performers when she takes the Tanks stage for one very special night only.

Emma will be supported by fellow far north sensation, Greta Stanley, who grew up in Mena Creek in Innisfail, as well as Brisbane musician Emerson Snowe.

Emma Louise plays the Tanks Arts Centre on Saturday the 7th of September, tickets on sale Friday 7th June
