Some say they are responsible for the current hipster beard phenomenon. They have certainly put in the groundwork getting the good word about all things beardy out to the general public. Maybe they feel like their work is done and they have accomplished everything they set out to do, because sadly, the day has finally come..

After 10 years, 4 studio albums, 56 songs about beards, and way too many shows, beers and beard strokes to count, the Beards are hanging up their touring hat indefinitely in 2016. Don’t panic just yet though – before they call it a day they are embarking on one more MASSIVE farewell tour to say thankyou to everyone who’s come out to support beards over the years.

The Good news for NQ Folk is that Cairns and Townsville is on the farewell tour itinerary next year with shows at the Dalrymple Hotel Townsville on the 14th May, and the Jack in Cairns on the 15th of May 2016.

You are strongly advised to be bearded for the show.
