These legendary pioneers of roots rock reggae are back, and you’ll be deciding which famous album they perform! Wailers return to the Tanks on Thursday 17th of March next year for what is bound to be another sellout show.
Straight from the Byron Bay Bluesfest, the incorporable Wailers will be performing one of their albums Exodus, Survival, Uprising and Legend at Tanks, including many of the top 10 hits that have made them the greatest living exponents of Jamaica’s reggae tradition. When you buy your tickets, you’ll be able to cast your vote for which album you’ll hear live in its entirety.
Together with Bob Marley, the Wailers sold in excess of 250 million albums worldwide, and they continue to uphold the legacy of the famous reggae prophet with vocals from one of Jamaica’s most exciting new singers, Dwayne Anglin.
With classics such as Jammin’, I Shot The Sheriff, People Get Ready and One Love, these pioneers of thumping heartbeat rhythms and the popular “one-drop” reggae sound will be armed with all the Marley classics, as well as their message of peace, love and equality, shared through music and Rastafari. The Wailers band was formed in 1969 and since Bob Marley’s death in 1981, The Wailers have not slowed down; performing with international acts such as Sting, Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana, as well as reggae legends Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer and Burning Spear. They’ve also completed an incalculable number of tours over the years, playing to an estimated 24 million people across the globe, completing an incredible 180 gig run in 2012.
