Resonate Finishes at The Grand Hotel

It’s been a great 15 months of original music at the Grand Hotel with Resonate, but sadly this series of Resonate at the Grand has come to an end. It has been no secret that there has always been somewhat of a culture clash between the day drinking patrons at the Grand and the more sophisticated Resonate crowd. While we have had a lot of amazing nights at Resonate over the last 15 months, the proposition of getting people to that end of town on a Thursday night has become too difficult, and a more suitable venue must be found.

Pandamonium Records would like to thank Brett Wilson – manager at the Grand, and all the awesome bar staff (Corrine, Jess, Carissa and Codi) who have supported us over the last 15 months.

The good news is that other venues have already expressed an interest in hosting Resonate. Stay tuned for an imminent announcement in coming weeks as Pandamonium Records finds the most suitable new home for North QLDs longest running and most loved original music night.

Originally staged at the Courthouse Hotel in 2003 and then later the Grand Hotel in Cairns, Resonate became a local institution with artists like Dan Sultan, Emma Louise, Danny Ross, Steve Towson and many more having all played Resonate early in their careers. The night has also hosted countless touring and local original acts over the years. Resonate became well known on the touring circuit, with many touring bands passing through stripping back to a few members to get an extra gig while in town and making their tour more financially viable.

All artists playing at Resonate are paid.
