Great to see a big crowd turn out for last weeks Resonate. A pub full of people digging local original music is always a good thing to see! The weekly institution kicks off again this Thursday night at the Grand Hotel from 7.00pm.
Mick Hodgkins will be starting the night off at 7.00pm. Mick is a veteran of the local original music scene and is a key member of local folk rock legends Mangrove Jack. After several albums, world tours and countless local gigs Mick has an impressive catalogue of well crafted songs.
Playing the 8.20 slot this week is Ju Ju Moon. Rumour has it that Ju Ju Moon will be filming their Resonate set this week. Virtuosic sax playing, great vocals and guitar playing with a sense of humour, if you haven’t caught Ju Ju Moon yet, come down and check them out.
The big man with the big voice GG Davies will be playing the 9.20 slot this week. Expect a bunch of blues from the wrong side of town. GG seems to always be at the top of the reverberation alternative charts, and has recently released an album called Soul Shine. Check out Mitch Sullivans interview with GG Here.
Resonate is staged every Thursday night at the Grand Hotel in Cairns. Resonate blasts off at 7.00pm and entry is free!
