Resonate – Rebecca Langtree, Valerie Villa, Brealyn Sheehan

A great mix of local and touring talent at Resonate this Thursday at the Grand Hotel. Playing the 7.00 slot filling in for Summer Rhyme who were originally booked, but struck down with the dreaded flu is Rebecca Langtree. Rebecca has been popping up at venues all around town, including a recent support slot with the Tea Party’s Jeff Martin at Brothers. Rebecca has a very unique voice and a load of really nice originals, don’t miss her.

local up and coming songstress Valerie Villa will be playing the 8.20 middle set this Thursday. Valerie was recently featured on Balcony TV. For someone that has only been writing her own songs for a year or so her songs show a maturity that belies her experience.

No stranger to the Resonate stage is Brealyn Sheehan. Always popular with the fussy Resonate crowd, Brea has become somewhat of a regular on the Grand hotel stage. Former singer of Cinnamon Sin, Brea has a big bluesy voice that has to be heard to be believed. Brea has reportedly been in the studio recently laying down some new tracks, we are looking forward to hearing the fruits of her labour. Brea will be joined by the man in the hat (and possibly safari suit!) Papa Stanley on upright bass.

Mitch Sullivan from the Taste will be filling in for me this on sound, but hopefully I will be able to escape from my other engagement to call in and check out the night.

There’s a new chef in the kitchen at the Grand and a complete new menu. If you haven’t had a feed at the Grand for a while you definitely need to check out the new look menu. I had the opportunity to sample one of their sizzling steaks last week and it was superb. Kitchen opens at 6.00, Resonate kicks off at 7.00 and entry is free, what’s not to like?
