THE LONG STORY…
ABOUT THE BANDS:

CAPE YORK:
Groovin the Moo/Unearthed winners Cape York consists of singer songwriter Jevon Van Ballegooyen. A mainstay of the live music scene in the far North – his guitar-driven brand of melodic yet pensive alt-country pop has been developed with original bands including Underbelly, The Vlads and The Clones. Jevon will be joined on stage by his brothers Colin (drums) and Jason (bass) and brother-in-law Michael Collins (guitar).

ODIUS:2014-10-4-mofo-A3-flat-cmyk
Odius is a new thrash metal band rising up from Cairns, Australia. They aim to make heads spin, and achieve their goal consistently with a live energy and stage show that shouldn’t be missed!

LEANNE TENNANT:
Described by Bill Chambers as a serious Australian talent, Leanne weaves a rare mixture of styles driven by raw honesty, peppered with cheeky lyrics and a fiery backhand. She has just released her debut album “Pull Up Your Britches” produced by Mark Myers (The Middle East) with huge success. Two tracks off the album are already receiving Triple J airplay and she is set to release her first music video in September. Her album was funded by a crowdfunding campaign which saw her raise well over her target. It features a stellar line up of musicians including Bill Chambers (The Hillbillykillers), Jordan Ireland (The Middle East) and Jack Venables (Osaka Punch.

MOD CONS:
The conception of The Mod Cons coincided with that of the original MOFO Friday night live music sessions and soon they could be found as the resident covers band. Originally billed as “The Band That Shall Not Be Named”, they eventually settled on “The Mod Cons” and kick out a wide range of rocking, punkin’, garage-rocking numbers covering everything from You Am I, The Scientists, Johnny Thunders, Pixies and heaps more to keep you jiving.

DJ PAUL RUDD:
When asked about the enigma that is DJ Paul Rudd, Beastie Boy’s DJ Mix Master Mike said “who?”. He does a great owl impression.
