This Thursday’s Resonate looks to be a cracker with 1 new act and 2 crowd favourites hitting the Grand Hotel stage this Thursday the 4th of Jan..

First up at 7.00pm is Andrew Lockwood with Yndigo. Performing both as a solo artist and as a duo alongside Susie Clapton as Indigo, Andrew has played wineries,Cafe’s and Taverns all around Australia, New Zealand and the U.K. In a range of acoustic rhythms and a vocal style likened to Peter Gabriel and Jack Johnson, his own playing styles and tunings lend a distinctive timbre to the music.

Playing the 8.20 slot this week is Drewboy and Matty. Drewboy and Matty had the crowd jumping last time they played. Rumour has it that Gus Fernandez will be joining the boys again this Thursday night on percussion. Drewboy and Matty recently got back from a southern tour so this will be their first Resonate gig in a while. Check out our interview with Drew on NQ Music Press.

Playing out the night from 9.30 is Sweet K. Sweet K have a formidable bunch of originals that always seem to get the Resonate crowd’s feet moving. Guitarist Ray keeps things big and stomp with his stomp box while Bass player Ben holds down the bottom line. Add Kelly Moran’s soaring rock chic vocals and you have a trio that somehow seems to skirt the lines between the post disco sound of Moloko and the rock energy of Baby Animals while still maintaining their own original sound. Resonate is staged every Thursday night at the Grand Hotel in Cairns. Kitchen opens at 6.00, Resonate blasts off at 7.00pm entry is free!
