Garageland #2

Here we go again! After last months ground shaking debut Garageland at the Grand is back with 3 fresh original bands for your entertainment! The suspects are:-
Jimmy The One

Jimmy The One are an indie-rock trio based in Cairns, QLD that play up-tempo, catchy tunes that get the whole crowd dancing. Drawing inspiration from Tame Impala, Pheonix and Jet, these three high school aged boys deliver a high-energy performance.

They have performed with The Medics, Vozzey&VanC and also at Carve It Up alongside Bluejuice, Ball Park Music and The Jungle Giants in late 2012 after releasing their 5 track, self-titled debut EP.

The Dialers

The DialersOne of FNQ’s funkiest bands are coming to give us a big dose of good times and high energy – The Dialers are 6 piece fusion act who have a healthy habit of whipping dance floors into a body gyrating frenzy with perhaps no way of dialling out.

Hailing from the wild frontier country of FNQ, The Dialers originate from the Daintree and Kuranda rainforests to the glitz and glam that is the tourist mecca of Cairns. These two colliding worlds have helped to create their unique sound derived from a fusion of rock steady, reggae, blues, jazz, synth pop, funk and hip hop. The Dialers are no run of the mill hip hop act but more on the ska synth hop side of rap.

Hungry Lungs

Hungry Lungs are a four piece garage rock band, each member puts there own pull into each song and what comes out is a mash of Lo-Fi fuzz, prog, punk, stoner rock with a sprinkle of pop to top it off. They have been told their sound has “that early nineties sound”.

Garageland #2 kicks of at the Grand on Saturday June the 14th from 7pm and entry is free, what’s not to like?.
