It’s the last Resonate of 2016 and we would love you to join us for xmas drinks this Sunday at the Courthouse Hotel.
Greg Anderson, a member of seminal NQ original bands, The Unknown, and Meta4 returns from the U.K and will be kicking off this Sunday’s session at 4pm.
New to Resonate, Amy Zaghini (pictured) will be playing the 5pm set this week. Amy’s performing career started in dance; she first hit the stage at the age of 6, dancing with her older sister. She then began singing classical music, country music, playing guitar and piano which ultimately lead to her greatest passion – song writing.
In 2013 Amy released her debut EP “Mind Reader”. Overnight, “Mind Reader” made the top 50 on iTunes’ Pop Album Charts, and since, her film clip for single “I was your first” has reached over 10,000 views on YouTube.
Following the release, Amy’s songs have been heard on commercial radio and have also seen success in Triple J’s Unearthed Competition – Amy’s song “Phone Companies” reached number two on the Unearthed Pop chart and 31 overall.
Amy launched her independent debut album “Sweet Out Of Sight” in Townsville, December 2014 and more recently a music video for single “We’re Done”. Amy has performed at a number of Queensland festivals and events including the 2016 Dirt n’ Dust Festival as a guest artist, the Townsville 400, the Townsville Seafood Festival, Magnetic Island Race Week and the 2016 Palm Creek Folk Festival.
Playing the 6pm slot will be Brealyn Sheehan, who has a very special xmas song for you. Having heard this tune at last year’s Resonate Xmas party, I can vouch that it’s a cracker. Don’t miss it’s annual seasonal airing!
Katie Jay will be playing the 7pm slot this week. Check out Katies recent release “Carried Away” on JJJ Unearthed.
Presented by Pandamonium Records and originally starting in 2003 at the Courthouse Hotel on Thursday nights, and then for several years at the Grand Hotel, Resonate has recently returned to the Cairns Courthouse Hotel with a new Sunday afternoon session format. Resonate has become a local institution with Dan Sultan, Emma Louise, Danny Ross, Steve Towson and many more having all played Resonate early in their careers. Resonate is not an open mic night, and all artists are paid to ensure the best quality original artists are attracted and quality control is maintained.
Resonate kicks off at 4pm every Sunday at Cairns Courthouse Hotel. Entry is free.
Resonate is on rain hail or shine. In the event of bad weather Resonate will be moved inside to the main bar area.
