Resonate – Steve Williams, Brassett Hounds, Katie Jay

Resonate settles back in to it’s regular Sunday arvo session on the deck of the Gand Hotel this Sunday from 3pm with 3 of cairns best singer songwriters playing their original tunes.

Playing the 3pm slot will be Steve Williams, master song craftsman and consummate amazing all round musician, playing songs that Neil Finn would have given his left nut to have written. Seriously, be there!

At 4pm the Brassett Hounds will be making their return to the NQ Music Scene. The Brassett hounds will entertain you with their rootys originals. Apparently Andy had some troubles overseas having their wallets and cars stolen, so lets welcome them home with a friendly NQ vibes huh?

Playing the 5pm slot after her sell out show as a singer in the the recent Music of Pink Floyd show at the Cairns Convention Centre will be Katie Jay. A popular act at resonate with her entrancing original tunes, it’s possible she may join the ranks of other ex resonate acts such as Dan Sultan, Emma Louise, Danny Ross who played Resonate early in their careers.

Presented by Pandamonium Records and originally starting in 2003 at the Courthouse Hotel on Thursday nights, and then for several years back and forth between the Grand Hotel and the Courthouse Hotel, Resonate has recently returned to the Grand with a new Sunday afternoon session format. Resonate has become a local institution with Dan Sultan, Emma Louise, Danny Ross, Steve Towson and many more having all played Resonate early in their careers. Resonate is not an open mic night, and all artists are paid to ensure the best quality original artists are attracted and quality control is maintained. Resonate supports a sustainable local music industry.

Resonate kicks off at 3pm every Sunday at the Grand Hotel Cairns. Entry is free.

Resonate is on rain hail or shine with plenty of cover from the elements at the Grand
