Kuranda Amphitheatre – Revamp The Amp

Amid the recent closing of some well known NQ venues, it’s refreshing to see one iconic NQ venue getting a new lease of life. The Kuranda Amphitheatre has had a recent makeover and is rearing to go again with the upcoming Revamp The Amp festival.

Pitmole Productions present Revamp the Amp – a 1 day festival celebrating the recent makeover of the Kuranda Amphitheatre. The Amphitheatre is one of Australia’s iconic venues – nestled in the rainforest at Kuranda FNQ.

There is something magical about this venue and it has hosted some of Australia’s biggest acts including Midnight Oil, Silverchair, Missy Higgins, Jon Butler Trio and international acts such as Mumford and Sons.

This writer has fond memories of seeing INXS (with Michael Hutchence!) kicking off their X World tour at the Kuranda Ampitheatre, along with other memorable gigs like John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, George Thorogood, The Cruel Sea and many “Little Day Out” festivals featuring a plethora of local and touring acts.

Revamp the Amp is headlined by the amazing Ash Grunwald & band. The organisers have hand picked a selection of their favourite Blues and Reggae acts.

On the Blues side they will have Chase the Sun, Lachy Doley, Irish Mthen, Playskool, singer songwriter of the year Mike Elrington, Tim Griffin & the new look Cleveland Blues.

On the reggae side there will be Brisbane boys Kingfisha & Bullhorn, and local legends Zennith & Koahlition.

This is going to be a huge party, great music in a beautiful environment.

A percentage of ticket sales will be donated to Destinys Rescue, The Shed Atherton and The Amphitheatre.

Revamp The Amp will be staged on the 8th of April 2017
