Crowded House front man Neil Finn has teamed up with his son Liam and the duo have announced today new show dates including a stop in Cairns in February 2018.
Sharon Finn will also be joining Neil and Liam on stage for a few songs as a special guest.
Following the release of Neil’s latest album OUT OF SILENCE, co-produced with Liam and recorded live in front of an online audience, Finn’s latest incarnation is a full musical collaboration with Liam.
“Liam and I have been dreaming up this record for the last 2 years,” Neil says.
“We have a wonderful band assembled to bring it to the stage and are casting the net wide to bring up some old treasures for the set list.”
OUT OF SILENCE (2017) was recorded live in Neil’s Roundhead Studios in Auckland earlier this year via webcast on Facebook and Youtube, allowing fans to witness the making of the album.
In addition to the announcement of three new shows in 2018, Neil and Liam are also embarking on a, largely sold out, extensive tour of their homeland New Zealand in January, exploring the lesser-known treasures of their motherland.
Regarded as one of the world’s greatest song-writing treasures, Neil Finn has been leaving his legendary mark on the music scene for three decades.
Along with a plethora of solo albums, Neil has fronted the iconic band Crowded House who boast the nation’s most cherished classic hits such as Don’t Dream It’s Over, Fall At Your Feet, Weather With You, Better Be Home Soon and Something So Strong, to name but a snippet.
Since the age of 14 Liam has been releasing records and touring extensively, firstly with his teenage band Betchadupa, and then as a solo artist releasing three albums to critical acclaim. Liam’s currently honing his multi-tasking talents as he completes a trio of albums; the first collaborative album with Neil, the soundtrack for the upcoming Susanne Bartsch documentary On Top, and writing songs for his fourth solo album.
