MOFO Live at the German Club – Sat 16th Aug

MOFO proudly presents…

BORGUST! Live at German Club Cairns
If there’s one thing that Star Trek and the year’s calendar has taught us, it’s that when you add Borg and August together – you get Borgust!
To celebrate this revelation of word-mechanics, MOFO we are hosting an event at everyone’s favourite German Club… the German Club.
SATURDAY AUGUST 16TH, FROM 6:30PM
ALL AGES ARE WELCOME, 18+ NEED I.D. IN ORDER TO DRINK
Under 13′s are free (proof of age required if you’re trying to get a free entry)

The night will include 4 local and talented bands covering vast styles of different musical tastes:
Grilla Dvision are a local hip-hop act who have all the right people saying all the right things about them.
They consist of emcee’s sbeekONE and Milkee or also known as ‘sbeek n chong’, with damaging tracks ranging from the good ole’ boom bap style to heavy hitting dub/glitch. It’s safe to say these boys always bring the heat with every set and never fail to impress.
They will be accompanied on the night by everyone’s favourite DJ Jimmy Flipshyt.

Jimmy The One have way too much talent for their young age, but we won’t hold it against them. Their meshing indie/psychedelic rock sounds make this trio well worth a look. Drawing inspiration from Pond, Cage The Elephant and The Strokes, these three high school aged boys deliver a high-energy performance.

Odius (formerly Odium) have been impressing a lot of heavy music lovers over the past few years with their thrash metal chops. Formerly known as Freebooters, Odium take their influence from acts such as Lamb of God, Havok, Megadeth, Pantera, Testament and Slayer.

Cinnamon Sin fuses luscious, deep vocals with sultry saw, gypsy folk guitar, accordion, keys and blues harp all bound together with a joyful beat to create a musical journey through love, innuendo, passion, heartbreak and happiness.

DJ Rudd has a low IQ and a heightened sense of smell. He will be providing pre-recorded sounds on duelling ipods at fifty paces.

But that’s not all folks. It wouldn’t be a MOFO gig without some high falootin’ art wankery. Therefore we have also bought our pals Craig Middleton and Regular Rick along for the evening.
Craig will be providing visual installations to backdrop the bands, whilst Regular will be holding an exhibition of sorts and getting all arty up in yo’ grill.

Food and Drink will be available, including some tasty German treats.

Restaurant and Bar open at 6:30pm
Music starts at 7pm
