From the sunny shores of Port Douglas, indie rocker Bobby Maguire has released his dynamic new single ‘Breathe’ produced and recorded by Mark Meyers at Big Sister Studio. Written by the ocean and inspired by the likes of the Naked and Famous, Radiohead and Kings of Leon, ’Breathe’ incorporates elements of progressive rock, punk, pop and jazz to form a dynamic composition of pressure, release and resolve.
Mastered by Grammy award winner William Bowden (Gotye, The Living End) at King Willy Sound, the tracks impressive self-edited video clip was recently released to much attention across social media pages.

Delivering an evocative message of tension, conflict and division, I spoke to Bobby Maguire about the meaning behind ‘Breathe’.
“Breathe is a song about reconnecting to the earth. We all get so caught up in our own little worlds that we forget we are all sharing one. Sometimes you’ve just got to look around and realise there are things a lot bigger than us, don’t fight it, work with it, breathe it in.”
“I used the elements earth, wind and fire in the vdeoclip and utilised the beautiful natural scenery we have here in Port Douglas. As well as some fire twirling to showcase that.”
Recorded with Mark Myers at Big Sister Studio, Maguire has further releases in store for us in the later end of year.
“Mark was awesome, it was such a great experience in a cool atmosphere. He has such a keen intuition and would pick up on things and have ideas that I would never have thought of. I was very lucky to have him produce my track.”
Bobby Maguire performs at Rock The Yacht on Sat 22nd April with Neil Junior, OMB, The Krooves, The Taste, Al Boulton Band and Kalidad. Port Douglas Yacht Club (1 Spinnaker Close, Port Douglas). 4pm till Midnight. $10 Entry
