Melbourne soul outfit Saskwatch have announced a massive 30-date national tour with support from Brisbane’s indie-pop trio Cub Sport. Releasing their third studio album Sorry I Let It Come Between Us earlier this year, Saskwatch have never been one to shy away from the unconventional. The band will be hitting all the major capital cities to celebrate the album release, as well as an extensive run of regional dates and festivals (including Cairns and Townsville!). The shows will see the band play new tracks from their third studio album Sorry I Let It Come Between Us out now via Northside Records / Remote Control Records.
After performing regionally with Groovin The Moo in May, and rounding out 2015 supporting The Rubens on tour nationally, Saskwatch will finally be able to showcase a slew of new material off their latest album including lead single “I’ll Be Fine” as well as new single “Everyone’s Giving Up”, along with all the favourites from previous albums Nose Dive and Leave It All Behind on their own headline stages as a newly formed six-piece band. Leading the pack is singer Nkechi Anele, taking audiences from the depths of heartache to overwhelming joy in just one show. This show is not to be missed
While Saskwatch spent their first two albums establishing themselves and their sound, new album Sorry I Let It Come Between Us takes on another trajectory entirely. The album itself was recorded over a month long period at Mt Slippery – an old silversmith warehouse come recording studio on the outskirts of Philadelphia, America. It’s the studio of Dr Dog’s Scott McMicken and Nathan Sabatino, who together produced the album. Saskwatch have long been big fans of Dr Dog, both musically and in their work as producers, and relished at the chance to head overseas and work alongside them. The result: the epitome of progression through its refinement, honesty and simplicity – a product of a band who is comfortable in the malleability of their own sound.
Saskwatch play the Jack in Cairns on 18th of March and Street Party in Townsville on 19th of March. Tickets for all NQ shows through Oztix
