A Tanks series that showcases the best of live & local music, this month proudly presents JUANITA UNLOCKED (Aretha Franklin show) + SONG CIRCLE with 3 artists.
With her gospel voice, JUANITA grew up singing the songs of Aretha Franklin, “The Queen of Soul”, to whom she now pays respect by performing this internationally showcased tribute to the soul great, backed by her 10 piece band that includes some of Cairns’ finest musicians – vocalists Nikki Doll & Sue Day, plus Mitchell Steele, Ashley Petersen and more.
In support, a SONG CIRCLE featuring local singer/ songwriters REBECCA LANGTREE, TERRY DOYLE & JAIMEE DAVIDSON will open the evening and allow each artist to introduce & perform a self-penned song they’ve chosen for the evening.
Juanita Unlocks the Treasure Vault of Aretha Franklin. Inspired for years by the music of the Queen of Soul, this incredible artist will be paying homage to her idol performing a show stopping performance. Her show has already moved audiences in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Greece, UAE and throughout Australia with her heartfelt, soulful vocals.
Performing as part of the SONG CIRCLE, Jaimee Davidson will delight audiences with her sassy style, insightful lyrics and at times hilariously funny original songs. She is reputed for her stage confidence, big attitude and innocence, all at the same time. Her acoustic indie-pop style – with a dash of R&B – is already garnering her acclaim around the region. Rebecca Langtree is a prolific songwriter with a distinctive voice, filled with power, grace and expression. She is an emerging artist with a bright future.
Terry Doyle needs no introduction to Far North Queensland audiences. He recently celebrated 50 years in the Australian music industry and has worked in almost every guise in those five decades. For the past eight years he has been nurturing and mentoring up-and coming singer-songwriters with great success.
