The Pad Boys – Where Are They Now

Although hardly ready for the “Where Are They Now” file, Djabugay band The Pad Boys will launch their debut album ‘Where Are They Now’ at the Tanks Arts Centre Friday 15th Sept, and to celebrate they have put together a power-packed First Nation’s performance program, with National comedian Jay Wymarra and the funky DJ Mr Tarago in support.

One of North Queensland’s most enduring and successful First Nations acts are celebrating 30 years in the music industry this year. Fusing roots-based reggae and indie rock with Djabugay language, within a broader soul groove, The Pad Boy’s songs have become mini ‘anthems’, and are now part of a longer Djabugay music tradition.

With a number of showcase gigs under their belt, the band are ready to re-launch onto the global stage, and prove what a force of First Nations style they now are.
