There’s a new home for original Rock n Roll in Cairns..

For those that came in late..

The Panda Room was run every weekend in the back room of the Cape York Hotel from 2011 – 2013 by Pandamonium Records and was a haven for local and touring original acts. The venue hosted some legendary nights including sellout shows for U.S band Guttermouth and the CD launch for local band Jobstopper.

The Panda room is returning in occasional popup form at Big Trevs Takeaway in Tingira st Portsmith. The Takeaway place will be transformed into a music venue with stage, P.A, lighting Rig, and atmospheric haze machines as often as required, initially every 4 – 6 weeks. The test run “Trevfest” back in March was a huge success and people who attended raved about the quality sound and presentation of the place.

Currently Pandamonium Records organises all the events at The Panda Room, but may be open to hiring out the venue with sound and lighting system for special events in the future.

Playing the relaunch will be The Joker Pokers, The Brazilians and Wasabi Barbie. $20 Entry, strictly limited to 80 tickets so get in fast! There’s plenty of cover for bands and audience so don’t be put off by bad weather!
