A year to the date since the release of their last abum ‘Convalesce’, Cairns based Funk Rock,Soul,Hip Hop outfit ‘The Taste’ release their newest single ‘Move On’ ahead of a run of South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales shows.
Playing some of the South East’s premier venues, the band will perform at The Zoo (Fortitude Valley, Brisbane), Sol Bar (Maroochydore) and The Shared (Yandina) as part of the ‘Move On’ Single Tour as well appearing for the second time at Nimbin Roots Festival, alongside fellow Cairns performer Jeremiah Johnson.
Having recently supported The Cat Empire and Butterfingers, The Taste was also Highly Commeneded for their track ‘The Calling’ at the 2018 Queensland Music Awards.
Written by lead female vocalist Vanessa Glennon, Move On features a buffet of instrumentation in true Taste fashion with Saxophone, Trumpet and Lead Guitar all highlighted through the three minute package.
“Originally the song was a slow number before I brought it into the band. We played around with it a few times and everyone added their own spin to it, which made it become the upbeat track it is today” said Vanessa Glennon.
Coinciding with the studio version release, The Taste have also released a live videoclip recorded/mixed and mastered by Kris Hutchinson and filmned by Jason Macalpine at JaceFilms.
“We really wanted to capture the way we perform live. We’ve done miming videoclip before and it always feels a little awkward. Its more natural for us to play live and really get into the song. So this time around we made the decision to play live and we are all really happy with the result” said bassist Mitch Sullivan.
The Taste – Move On is available now from Bandcamp.
